About Us 

Eyrie for the Children Foundation is a non-profit charity organization that believes all children deserve a chance to reach their full potential.  

We are a secular organization with membership that includes people of various age groups from all ethnic, social and political backgrounds.  We are constantly looking for like minded people to join our organization.  Together we can make a difference.

 

Board of Directors 

Dominic Lee – President, FounderDominic Lee President, Founder 

A professional engineer registered in the province of Ontario, Dominic operates his own structural steel design company. He obtained both a Bachelor of Applied Science in Civil Engineering (1974) and a Master of Engineering (1979) from the University of Toronto.

Dominic has been involved in a number of community services.  He served as a Lieutenant in the Canadian Reserve Army, 2nd Field Engineer in Toronto (1975-1980). He was a volunteer at Fairvern Old Age Home in Huntsville Ontario, where he was parent liaison for elementary school student volunteers (1988-1990). Dominic also chaired the Muskoka Training Committee of Ontario, a community-volunteer organization funded by the Ontario and Federal Government to promote training in different trades (1989-1993).

Dominic was elected as Councillor for the Town of Kearney Ontario, he also chaired Kearney’s Finance Committee (1990-1993).  Most recently, Dominic has volunteered at the Canadian Institute for the Blind.

 

Bob Stobie – Vice President, Founder

Bob obtained a B.Sc. and a Ph.D., both from the University of Toronto. He worked for thirty years for a number of computer software development firms in the Toronto area, retiring in 2004. In 2005 he was elected to the Board of Directors of York Condominium Corporation #229, and has been President since 2007.

He has several hobbies, including playing the bagpipes in the Scarborough Red Hackle Pipes and Drums, of which he was one of the founding members in 1978. He has had a sailboat in Frenchman’s Bay in Pickering since 1978, and has served on the Board of Directors of Frenchman’s Bay Yacht Club for over ten years, and as Commodore in 2009. He also has a Private Pilot’s License (category 3 IFR) and owns a share in a Cessna 172 aircraft based at Buttonville Airport in Markham.

 

Hon-Phin Philip Yong – Director, Founder

Originally from Sabah, East Malaysia, Philip came to Canada in 1967.  He worked for Bell Canada as a Computer Communication Technician for 36 years and is currently retired.

Philip is a volunteer driver for the Canadian Cancer Society in Toronto.

When he has the time, he enjoys gardening, playing badminton all year round, golf and tennis in the summer and loves travelling too. 

 

Bosco Lau – Director, Founder

An optician since 1960, Bosco emigrated from Hong Kong to Canada in 1970 and worked for Josephson Opticians ever since.  Promoted to Branch Manager from 1972 to 1984, followed by his appointment as General Manager (1985 –98), Bosco held the position of Vice President since 1999 until his retirement in 2017.

Bosco‘s hobbies consist of travelling, swimming and golfing. 

 

Anne Chang – Director

Anne joined the Board of Directors of Eyrie for the Children Foundation in 2011.

She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) in Economics and a Master of Science in Education. She retired as school principal after 27 years with the Toronto Catholic District School Board in 2002. From 2003-2012, she served on the Board of Directors as Treasurer and Vice-President of the condominium complex where she resides.

In her spare time, she enjoys playing her piano, painting, gardening, exercise and dance classes, reading, cooking and travelling. 

 

Father Bill Robins – Director

Father Bill Robins was elected as director for Eyrie for the Children Foundation in 2012. Born in 1943 in Winnipeg, Father Bill joined the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits) in 1960 and was subsequently ordained on June 5, 1971 in Toronto.

Father Bill’s ministry has mainly been in the field of education.  He was posted to Regina Campion High School, (1966-68), Bhutan Sherubtse High School, Nepal (1972-76) and St.Paul’s High School in Winnipeg (1977).  Since 1978 to the present, Father Bill is in Nepal involved in high school teaching, performing social and pastoral services and administration. 

 

Gary Tsang – Secretary, Director

Gary holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in the field of Civil Engineering and is currently employed at RBC Dominion Securities as a Financial Advisor.

Gary’s interests include biking, soccer, football, and hiking.

 

 
 

Jason Lee – Director, Founder

Jason has been involved with Eyrie for the Children Foundation since its inception in 2010. Currently, he works for GO Transit / Metrolinx on the Union Station Revitalization Project.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from McGill University and a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Toronto.

Jason enjoys music, film, industrial design, and cycling.

 

Joseph Lee – Treasurer, Director

Joseph joined Eyrie for the Children Foundation in 2010 and the Board of Directors a year later.  He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Education.

His passion for education has led him to hone his teaching skills in a variety of locations such as in the United States, Japan and Dubai.  Currently he teaches at a private school in Mississauga.

Joseph’s interests include playing the guitar, hockey, writing, and film. 

 

David Sin –  Director

David joined Eyrie for the Children Board of Directors in 2010. He has been living in Toronto since 1973 and is a cross-border Canadian & US tax accountant.

David enjoys a passion for dancing, travelling & movie going.

 
 
 
 
 

Kha Sin Teow – Director

Kha Sin obtained his Master of Science in Computing Science at University of Alberta in 1982, and has been working in software, Internet, and storage design and development.

He was with a number of technology companies in Canada and US, and holds several patents in the fields of storage area network and storage security.

He has been volunteering for some organizations in Toronto: World Vision Canada, Travellers Aid Society, and Royal Ontario Museum; and joined the Board of Eyrie Children Foundation in September 2015.

His interests include music, reading, badminton, golfing, hiking, snowshoeing and travelling.

 

Tim Lam – Director

Tim joined the Eyrie for the Children Foundation Board of Directors in 2013. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and a Master’s Degree in Computer Networks Engineering.

Tim’s technical foundation and experience has led him to a role in Engineering Consulting – helping to solve large complex problems for wide-variety of organizations.

Tim’s interests include photography, golfing, electric mobility, entrepreneurship, and travelling.

 

Juliana Wong – Director

Juliana joined the Eyrie for the Children Foundation Board of Directors in 2017.

Originally from Hong Kong, Juliana completed her high school education at Bishop Strachan School and received a Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Toronto. Juliana’s career has taken her from Hong Kong to Canada in the financial services industry. She also worked briefly in London UK as a management consultant.

Since her youth, she has always participated in charitable events. During her teen years in Hong Kong, she attended Ying Wa Girls School and was a Brownie and then a Girl Guide. An active lady since her formative years in Hong Kong, she has continued with charity involvement in Canada. She was a founding member of the Toronto Elegant Lions Club and held the position of President Lion in 2000. In addition, she was a member of the Board of Directors of the Chinese Cultural Centre, CICS, and the Markham and Richmond Hill Chinese Business Association. She has also acted as the Ambassador Chair of the Mon Sheong Foundation.

Her hobbies include ballroom dancing, jazz music, film, and travelling.
